Interview with Oleg Valov

Oleg, tell us please where are you from and when have you started playing soccer? 

I’m from Saransk, Mordovia Republic, Russia. I started playing for soccer club “Mordovia” when I was 8. My first coach’s name is Vladimir Nikolaevich Medvedev.

You played for the Dynamo Moscow Double, which famous players have you played with there? Were you invited to play with the main team also?

The two years I spent playing for Dynamo Moscow I have played with many famous players: Voronin, Semshov, Kokorin, Kuranyi, Jusupov, Kolodin, Karjaka. Naturally, as a member of the Dynamo Moscow Double I have regularly participated in the main team’s training.

How did you come about Infonet? Was it an easy decision and how do you find your Estonian life now?

After my contract with Dynamo Moscow was up I found myself temporarily out of work, and my agents in charge of my career found this option. There were no problems making this decision since I’m interested in all things new. I want to gain more experience playing abroad.

How do you like our country? Have you traveled around? Have you settled?

This is my first time here and I have only seen the old Tallinn. Very beautiful. Local people seem nice and calm. I have settled well, everything according to the contract.

How do you find the team at this point? How do you like your teammates? 

FC Infonet is a young team, ambitious and with great potential. I believe this year they will get into the highest division of the Estonian Cup, and as soon as next  year they could compete for European Cups. My past teammates from Dynamo Moscow, Vladimir Malinin and Aleksandr Bebih, helped me to adjust to the new team. I liked it and I was well received.

What are your future plans, where would you like to play, or perhaps stay in Estonia past the current contract?

Surely first of all to help FC Infonet with it’s plans, we’ll see the rest later.

Tell us your opinion about Estonian soccer.

Judging by the first few games, I found the players to perform with great courage and desire to succeed. I’m very excited to play with them. I will make sure not to disappoint the fans of FC Infonet with my game.
